About Counselling…
Tauranga Living Without Violence – Welcome to our counselling space
At Tauranga Living Without Violence, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for those seeking counselling. Our services are designed to help you navigate life's challenges with compassion and understanding. We provide a safe and confidential space where you can freely express your concerns and emotions without fear of judgment. Together, we will work to address the challenges you wish to overcome, supporting you on your journey towards well-being.
Our approach is individualized and person-centred, grounded in respect and empathy. We utilize a range of therapeutic tools, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, tailored to meet your specific needs.
To participate in our counselling services, you must either be currently enrolled in, or have completed, a programme with us within the past three months. We offer six complimentary one-hour counselling sessions.
Our hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, though these may vary depending on the availability of our counsellors. All our counsellors are registered with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC), and you have the option to choose between a male or female counsellor. Confidentiality is assured, but limitations of this, including where there is potential for risk or harm to yourself or others, will be discussed in your first session.
Please note that we do not offer counselling services for couples or children.
We do have a Tamariki Safety Programme available for children. This is delivered by our Tamariki case worker with children aged from five years.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. To make an appointment, simply inform your case worker or group facilitator, and we will arrange an initial meeting.
